Jeez,
Okay, Okay
So I haven't Posted anything in a while...
Sooo,
Maybe I oughta continue a post I put up just as a suggestion on the Hotair.com site.
Although it was unrequested, I gave some advice to those seeking a good home protection weapon.

Well, my personal favorite (and I'll give you reasons why.) is a:

.410 pump shotgun.

The .410 is probably the most disparaged shotgun in history. it is in fact the smallest shotgun caliber made. With all those 12 gauges out there in movies and all, its kinda like the Betamax VS. the VHS players. Betamax was the superior technology at the time, and although firepower-wise yes the 12 gauge is the more powerful weapon.
the part they don't tell you about?
When firing a 12 guage in a closed quarters situation there is, a great racket, a lot of smoke, a huge flash, and the possibility of the shot going through dry wall and hitting an unintended target.
the .410 does not eliminate this possibility, but it does reduce it while giving you a decent amount of stopping power.
How? The .410 is the exact same caliber of a 45 long colt and has the same powder charge behind it. (yes, you can get slugs for the .410.) They also tend to be a bit cheaper than the big 12G. Just about any shooter will tell you a 45 is a big round (it just looks small compared to a 12 gauge.) also in the shotgun frame, folks with smaller body builds can wield it with out a fear of too much recoil. so its also handy for almost anyone to use. plus with any pump shotgun you get the "fear sound" of moving the slide to engage a round, and anyone who hears it wont be inclined to ask: "gee thats not a 12 gauge is it?"
anywhoooooo,
thats just me and my little world.
